UNITED WE DANCE
"We would like everyone to be a part of something great that exemplifies pride
and unity." A simple, yet complex statement. How can everyone be a part of
something great? Through the one thing that people do on a daily
basis...movement! Some may do it slowly while others do quickly, but the message
is the same.
United We Dance is comprised of 23 groups from Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan
and Ohio. On the first weekend in June since 2002, we come together to united as
a family by sharing , learning and having fun through the art of dance. Although
there are many different style of dance, they all share one thing in common: the
language of movement. When you get a group of people moving in the same
direction and sharing something in common, they are a force to be reckoned with!
They are strong! They are proud and most importantly, they are part of something
great!
With each passing year, our circle of friends and family has grown as the message
spreads and others want to join in the fun! We now have individuals and groups
from the states of California, Delaware, Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey,
Illinois, Maryland, Alabama, Georgia, New York, Washington, Missouri,
Arizona, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Mississippi and Tennessee.
In 2008, we had a total of 1000 participants at our 7th Annual Reunion in
Detroit, Michigan. We expect to surpass that amount in 2009 at our 8th Annual
United We Dance Reunion in Louisville, Kentucky.
